New Product Announcement
Well, folks, it's been a while since I last posted. Life has been hectic this year, and I decided to take some time to reevaluate my business. In the midst of this, I had multiple vacations which took me away from home and my craft room. Now that I am back from my final trip of the year (OnStage in Orlando), I'm ready to hit the ground running!
Many exciting things are coming in the months ahead, but I wanted to take a moment to focus on a new product coming your way. I happen to think this is a beautiful thing, but I know some of you may be confused, frustrated, or a bit scared. At OnStage Stampin' Up!® announced they were doing away with Wood Mount Stamps. This does NOT mean they are moving away from their amazing red rubber stamps. Let me explain.
Current Stamp Types
Photopolymer stamps are incredibly popular in the industry. They're easy to store and easy to stamp with since they are see-through. Excellent for two-step stamping, repeating patterns, and accurate alignment, these stamps aren't going anywhere!
Now, I'm aware that some of you confuse the Photopolymer Stamps with Clear Mount stamps. So what's the difference
Clear Mount and Wood Mount Stamps
Clear Mount and Wood Mount stamps are made of the same materials. The only difference between the two is how they are mounted. Clear Mount Stamps temporarily stick to clear blocks, while Wood Mount are permanently stuck to maple wood blocks.
People have been transitioning away from Wood Mount Stamps primarily to save space when storing. You can imagine the space saved when going from an inch thick stamp to a 1/4"! Red Rubber Stamps are still the industry standard when it comes to detailed images. The rigidity of the rubber allows for finer lines than the photopolymer which is much more pliable
Cling Mount Stamps
So with all of that, why is Stampin' Up?® changing things? For one, it's going to simplify the line. Instead of offering stamp sets in multiple materials, it will just be offered in either Photopolymer or Cling Mount. Another reason is the decrease in sales of Wood Mount Stamps. It's just not a great business move to continue investing in a material which has been on a decline in popularity for years.
The final reason for the shift is due to popular demand. Clear Mount stamps have been an issue since their release. When you choose to put the stickers on the back of the stamps, they tend to fall off of the clear blocks. There are workarounds (chapstick, adhesive, etc.) but most people tend to just skip the stickers off their stamps. The new Cling Mount stamps cling because of their stickers.
As you'll see in the video below, these puppies stick like glue! You need to make sure to remove them slowly to avoid tearing your foam, they are that clingy. My favorite part of this is knowing that I can clean with either the Stampin' Shammy or the Stampin' Scrub without having my stamp fall off the block!
I hope this post helped clear up any confusion, as well as get you excited about the coming changes. Remember, these new Cling Mount Stamps are available to demonstrators in December. The general public will be able to order them in January 2019. If you don't want to wait, you can always join my team and have access to the latest innovations first!
Head on down to the comments and let me know if you're excited about the new Cling Mount Stamps!
