You Are My Anchor
This is easily one of my favorite kits! From the bright, fresh colors to the amazingly cute imagery, You Are My Anchor is sure to be a hit! h Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Calypso Coral are the main colors, including Gold Foil accents.
Inside the Box
Since I already talked about the colors, let me get into the kit contents. The Stampin' Spot this month is Island Indigo, which is my favorite retiring color. There are 20 mini card bases, 4 each of 5 designs. There are coordinating envelopes to match each card base, and BOXES to hold each collection of 5 cards! This means you can use these as needed or gift a set to someone! I love giving cards as gifts, as it encourages others to send more personal greetings than Facebook messages.
You'll get a spool of Crumb Cake twine, which is a sneak peek at the new Nature's Twine available in the Nature's Poem Suite in the new catty. You've also got a slew of punch-out pieces, from anchors and life preservers to labels. Another great value kit with some great perks!
Thinking Outside the Box
As soon as I saw the sneak peek of this kit Paper Pumpkin shared on their Facebook page, I knew I wanted to pair it with the Message in a Bottle stamp set. The two were virtually made for each other! The font in this month's stamp set seems to be made for the fun cartoony imagery in the set, lending a bit of fun to my designs!
While I love the cute gift box, I wanted to create some standard size cards as well. This means of course that I began cutting up my envelopes and mini card bases and seeing what fun I could get up to with them!
For this fun mermaid card, I stamped her twice, once on Whisper White and once on copy paper to make a mask. Once I had her ready I used my Stamparatus for perfect placement of the anchor. I love how she's sitting on the anchor!
My final fun card is my favorite! I love that adding the pirate ship from Message In A Bottle brought new meaning to the "Adventure Awaits" sentiment!
