I'm horrible about sending cards. This year, I've been making it a point to change that, and by the end of February I will have mailed over 30 cards this year. One of those (A Secret Valentine's Card) is featured in today's post. The other card in today's post is also a Valentine's Card, but since I made it for my husband, it wasn't getting mailed!
Both cards use the Heart Happiness Stamp Set and the Happy Valentine's Day sentiment from the January Paper Pumpkin Kit, Heartfelt Love Notes.
I know I talk a lot about the amazingness of being part of a team of stampers, but that's only because it is such an awesome community to be part of! This month our team leader set up a Secret Valentine's Card Swap.
For my card, I decided to forgo the usual pinks and reds. Instead I used a combination of Basic Black and Whisper White mixed with vellum and Elegant Eggplant. I love the slightly sophisticated yet youthful look achieved here.
Seventies Vibe Valentine
Valentine's Day traditions are not in my wheelhouse; last year's card for my husband said simply "I care about your dumb ass a lot." So as far as the old standards, you won't find them from me. That being said, for this year's card I did go with a bit of red!
The DSP I used was from the retired Painted Autumn pack. I thought the addition of Soft Sky and Pumpkin Pie with the Real Red lent a bit of masculinity to the design, and also a kind of 70's era vintage vibe. Some hints of bronze and natural wood really bring this card to completion.
Well, that's a wrap on Valentine's for me kids. I hope you manage to grab yourself some flowers and/or some chocolate, whether or not you're expecting any from a significant other. I know I'm already halfway through a box myself 😉
