Must Have Mondays
Today's post marks the first in my Must Have Monday series. Through the end of March I'll be focusing on a different Sale-A-Bration offering every week. If your Wish List is anything like mine, you may need a hand narrowing things down; hopefully this series will help!
I'm starting with my favorite SAB offering, the simple yet stunning Amazing You set. Since this is a red rubber set, you get super crisp lines on every image and word. If you're a fan of the fonts in this stamp set, you may want to place a bigger order and pick up the Celebrate You Thinlits! The dies were a fun surprise, since Stampin' Up!® has announced they will be available for purchase in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.
Lots of Simply Amazing Lavender
Today I'm sharing two projects, each with the amazing sentiment. First up is a card which features another SAB goodie, the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set. I colored my flowers with Stampin' Blends (see materials list at the end of the post for specifics) and cut my Stitched Shapes circles from DSP, propping the smaller wood one with Dimensionals.
I wrapped Basic Black Baker's Twine around the Early Espresso and Whisper White, stamped my sentiments (with help from the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig!) and added two vellum leaf punches from the Holiday carryover!
Amazing Poppies Scrapbook Layout
My second project today is a clean and simple scrapbook layout. It's pretty rare for me to create a layout without having a photo first, but the idea for this came to me and just wouldn't go away. I've got to say, I love how it came out!
Fun Tip: If you make a layout without the photo, a fun way to create a placeholder is with a camera stamp! I used the Polaroid stamp from Pieces and Patterns for mine.
I stamped my flowers a total of 10 times; three directly on my layout in Basic Black ink, and 7 on another sheet of Whisper White using Memento ink. I then colored in the 7 and began fussy cutting. For two of the flowers, I cut only the top layer. Next, using a bone folder, I slightly curled the petals before attaching them to the full flowers. Since I had fussy cut all of my flowers, I positioned some on top of my stamped images with leaves. The two 3D flowers I attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Fun Tip: Another thing to take into account when you're creating a layout without the pictures: never adhere something down over your placeholder! I only glued my flowers down on the layout itself, leaving room to slide a picture in later.
For my title, I cut amazing from Basic Black cardstock. The finishing touches are some Pumpkin Pie enamel dots and two strips of Washi.
Fun Tip: When using the Amazing die cut, use either the adhesive sheets prior to die cutting, or the Fine Tip Glue to stick this one down without the sticky mess!
I hope you enjoy these projects as much as I did making them! Next week I'll be showing the Party Pandas as my Must Have Monday item. Head down to the comments and let me know which SAB items made your list!
