New Occasions Catalog Card Swap
Three times a year, the Fun N' Crafty Team does card swaps (coinciding with catalog releases). For mine, I opted to showcase both the Magical Day Stamp set and the Stampin' Blends. These two products are a match made in heaven.
Mr. Wizard's World
First up was my wizard. His skin is colored with Ivory and both shades of Gray made his beard. I used the Light Night of Navy with Bermuda Bay ti create the deepest shadow on his hat and frock. From there I colored with a combination of Light and Dark Pool Party. I finished him off with the Wink of Stella.
Putting the Heat On
There were two things I knew I wanted on this card: The Make a Wish Sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was one. The typography on that set is still my favorite in the current cattys. The other element I wanted was heat embossing. After 10 mock-ups (no joke; it was just one of those days) I finally came up with the layout you see.
The heat embossing was a must because I wanted to showcase more uses for the Stampin' Blends. That's right... you can color over embossed images with the Blends! I decided to also color rhinestones with Bermuda Bay to accent the magic. It's finished off with a strip of the super sparkly Myths & Magic washi.
If you've enjoyed this card, think about joining in on a card swap sometime. It's a great way to get new ideas for sets you own or spark some interest in a set you perhaps didn't look twice at! Head on down to the comments and let me know what you think of today's project.
