Oh, What a Night
Prior to moving to the west coast, I worked at an art studio in Massachusetts. While my specialty was framing pictures, I took the time to test several art mediums while working there. I went from colored pencils to pastels and guache. I tried my hand at acrylic, oil and watercolor paints. And nothing seemed to stick. I was destined to frame art and not create it.
This will be the third Girls' Night In event, but the first with my new meetup dot com group! There is so much I'm excited to share; giving some people their first peek at the incredible new Stampin' Up!® catalog and two super cute make and take card projects!
Here's your sneak peek into the evening's projects, beginning with the "Wine Alone" card.
Friends Don't Let Friends Wine Alone
Those of you who know me personally always ask why I host an event centered around crafting and wine. The craft part is easy, I love what I do and I want to share it with others. It's my favorite escape from a stressful day and I love seeing the results of something I've put my time and effort into. The wine part is what stops most people... because I don't drink.
However, I am aware it is a popular past time, and furthermore that it can help people lose their inhibitions. This is something I felt would help break the ice for people getting to know each other, as well as believing in their ability to create beautiful projects!
The projects tonight feature the Mixed Drinks Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!® For the first card, I chose the FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS WINE ALONE sentiment. Deceptively simple, this card looks like it takes hours to create. However, once your materials are cut, it only takes minutes to complete! I decided to showcase one of the new In Colors, Fresh Fig tonight. This makes the perfect color for wine! (If you prefer, you can use So Saffron in place of Fresh Fig for a White Wine card!)
Masculine Amazingness Card
With Father's Day coming up, I figured it would be a good time for a more masculine card. And in keeping with our evening's theme (alcohol, not just wine!), I designed a beer card!
Here's hoping you all enjoy the projects! Head on down to the comments and let me know... are you a beer or wine kind of gal?
