Colorful Seasons Stamp Set
Becoming an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin' Up!® has created a lot of firsts for me. This month finds me participating in not just one, but TWO card swaps. Both are focusing on new product from the upcoming Annual catalog (available June 1st). Since most of the items on my wish list didn't make the pre-order, I have one bundle I will be using for these cards: The Colorful Seasons Bundle.
When in Doubt, Add Glitter
For those of you who aren't familiar with Card Swaps (I was one of you!), it's basically trading cards! Depending on the set up (individual or group) you will make either 1 card or multiple copies of a design and mail them off. In return, you will receive 1 or multiple cards back. The fun part of group swaps is receiving many different cards in a multitude of design styles. It's a great opportunity to build up your card stash or to show off projects using materials you may not have if you're a demonstrator.
Every month, the Fun n' Crafty group does an Individual Card Swap. For this card I opted to use the small snowflake from the set as well as the "just breathe" sentiment stamp. You'll see a lot of this beautiful stamp in the coming months, as it is a demonstrator favorite already!
Marina Mist is my card base, while I ran Pool Party through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder. I used the Wink of Stella clear glitter brush to add sparkle to each of the dots (not recommended on bulk projects, as it is VERY time consuming). Next, I stamped the "just breathe" sentiment along the bottom of the embossed piece in Marina Mist.
I created a border of washi tape on a small piece of Pool Party before stamping my small snowflake background. When the washi tape was removed it left a crisp border. I added a mat of Marina Mist behind this. Next up was the Triple Banner Punch. The 1" Pool Party banner got the Wink of Stella treatment to tie in the shimmer and make it pop off the background. All of these elements were attached to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals. The finishing touch was a bit of rhinestone bling in the center of each flake.
That's it for this project! Stay tuned for some more fun projects using this set and some other fun sets carrying over to the new catalog! What other projects do you want to see using the new Colorful Seasons bundle?
