It's not often I post about my personal life on here, aside from a blurb here or there. This month has been a tough one though, and I wanted to touch base with everyone to let you know what's been happening.
Don't worry, I'm not about to get all maudlin and make you depressed. It's just been one of those months where things are piling up and I feel like I've been neglecting my blog. So here's the deal on what's been happening and an update on some behind the scenes business dealings. Wow, that sounds shady. By business dealings I swear I'm not up to anything nefarious, I'm doing behind the scenes work.
I will start by saying that my husband has been dealing with some medical issues. This has been a pretty heavy weight around us, as they have been trying to nail down a diagnosis since January. While we feel optimistic that they have narrowed the cause down, we're not being given any resolution to the problem. There is a procedure scheduled for May 1st which will hopefully lead to a treatment plan. While we are looking forward to having an actual plan, the waiting is nerve-wracking.
With all that has been happening, we felt we needed something good. You may recall that we added a new furbaby to our family last month. While we love him (he's got a fantastic temperament) he began limping a couple of weeks ago. We took him in to the vet, and $400 later, we got "inconclusive" results on the x-rays. So he's currently on restriction, but seems to be feeling much better with no signs of the limp. We'll find out at the end of the month if the vet feels we need comparison x-rays still.
As you can see, there's been A LOT going on. And let's be honest, most of it has not been great. But these are the times we find what we're made of. These are the times that make you appreciate what you have that much more.
Thank you for sticking with me as I find a balance between all of this and my business I love so much!
So I have some good news to share!
As far as Cody, our new furbaby, his limp is gone and he appears to be in good health. We will of course continue to monitor him to ensure he doesn't reinjure himself, but this is EXCELLENT news!
As far as my husband is concerned, I appreciate all of the well wishes. It turns out the procedure we expected to have on the 1st of May is being indefinitely postponed. His team of doctors feel that it is in his best interest to hold off on any invasive procedures until/unless he has episodes like he was having in January.
While we still don't have a definitive answer on what is going on with him, we are glad to be done with testing for a while. And especially thankful that the major surgery discussed is off the table. Thank you again for all of your concerns!
