I'm sure you've noticed my March post is a bit late this month. It's been a rough start to the year over here at the Compound and we're just now getting into the groove of our "new normal". In the past year and a half we've watched helpless as our 4 dog pack has dwindled to one.
The loss of Rahjah was especially hard as we haven't fully gotten over the loss of Duke last October. Our cattle dog Zeke took this final loss quite badly and has been depressed for the past two weeks since she passed. My daughter (2 1/2) has been taking it hard as well, asking to go to the clouds to visit the dogs and play because she misses them.
As we're working through our grief, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I'm beginning Spring Cleaning; getting my calendar up to snuff and just getting organized in general. Keep reading to find out the big changes coming this month!
The New Normal
The time-honored tradition of Spring Cleaning is upon us. I decided to get started a bit earlier than usual and just moved a bunch of furniture around in my house. This led to re-hanging of pictures and a reminder to update some images with recent shots. (I still don't have pictures of the kiddo up and she's almost three!)
All of this was ramped up even more by our decision to welcome a new fur-baby into our family. We brought Cody (2 months) home from Helen Woodward on the 8th. I realized later that night we had brought Zeke home exactly 8 years ago to the day! While everyone has perked up with the new addition it's been quite the lifestyle change. A new puppy is almost like having another baby!
With all of this there have also been some medical issues in the family so my attention has been diverted. While those issues haven't been resolved yet, we are looking forward with renewed hope these days.
A New Journey Begins
The biggest news actually happened earlier today, which is my becoming a Stampin' Up demonstrator! I've been thinking about joining the company for over a year and finally took the plunge! I can't wait to start sharing new projects, how-to's and product reviews here on the blog.
Here's hoping the luck of the Irish is with us all this month and things start looking up. Keep your eyes to the sky looking for rainbows between the rainfall.
