One of the greatest parts about joining Stampin' Up!® as an Independent Demonstrator is getting to be a part of a team. I was lucky enough to join under the Fun n' Crafty ladies! While we are scattered among a few states, there is a great amount of camaraderie and a wonderful support system.
This month is my first time joining in the monthly Fun n' Crafty Blog Hop! For those of you who don't know what a blog hop is, it's when a group of bloggers get together and choose a theme. Each blogger creates their post and links to the blogger before and after them so you can see a theme from many different perspectives. Welcome if you're joining me from Christine's blog, and if you're starting with me, be sure to backtrack so you can see all the NEW products!
New Catalog Preview
This month, the theme is the New Catalog Preview! The 2017-2018 Annual Catalog goes live on June 1st, but being a demonstrator has it's perks! The best is the opportunity to take part in a pre-order of brand new products a month before they're released to the public. (If you want to take advantage of this and many other perks, read more here!)
Now, on to the fun stuff!
Colorful Seasons Bundle
I fell in love with the possibilities for the Colorful Seasons bundle right away. When I saw it available on the pre-order, I didn't hesitate! Not only are the stamps and dies beautiful, but it works year round. From spring (cherry blossoms), summer (drink & beach chair/Adirondack chair), autumn (stunning leaves) all the way through to winter (snowflakes).
The colors I chose for my project are (in no particular order) Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. I began with the large leaf die cuts. For the detail die, I used Early Espresso while I chose Watercolor Paper for the plain leaf. Since I was going to watercolor, I stamped the leaf detail in Archival Basic Black. (I don't know about you, but I think these leaves are just BEGGING for watercolors!) There really is no better way to capture the beauty of autumn.
Once my leaves were ready, I used the same ink selections to paint a 2" strip of watercolor paper. I cut a 1 1/2" strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and a 1" strip of Old Olive. After stamping the Old Olive with the detailed leaf, I used the Triple Banner Punch to create 3 banners. Next I turned my attention to the base. I stamped on of the gorgeous sentiments from the set (really guys, can we just drool over the typography for a second?!) in Early Espresso on a Crumb Cake background. I matted this with Early Espresso and attached them to a Thick Whisper White Base.
After layering my banners with the detailed leaf die cut, I topped them with the burlap ribbon. (This burlap ribbon is one of the things I'm most grateful to have carried over to the new catalog.) I topped this with the gold string from the May Paper Pumpkin kit (you could use the Gold Thread if you didn't get the kit). To finish it off, I attached the watercolor leaf.
Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing my project. I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you pick up this bundle on June 1st! Make sure to stop by the rest of the team's blogs today for more sneak peeks. Next up is Pam over at Stinky Tofu. We are so excited about the new catalog and know you're going to be as well! Head down to the comments and let me know what you're most looking forward to / hoping to see in the new catty!
